Blended Learning is where student learning consists of a blend of face-to-face traditional learning method, and online, web-based instruction & practice. In a traditional classroom setting, one teacher instructs the same concept to 20-40 students at the same time. Blended Learning, however, creates more engaging, efficient, and success-oriented learning environments through technology by recognizing each student's different pathway for learning, and placing the student at the center of the learning process.
Blended learning is a student-centered approach to creating a learning experience whereby the learner interacts with other students, with the instructor, and with content through thoughtful integration of online and face-to-face environments. A well-designed blended learning experience thoughtfully organizes content, support materials, and activities via synchronous and asynchronous learning events, all of which are delivered in a variety of modes ranging from traditional lecture to online tutorials. Communication and collaboration are necessary functions of a blended approach.
Online learning offers individual data, timely feedback, and flexible pathways.
