Please note the followingLinfield Christian Online (LCO) Policies and Procedures
All online courses must be approved by Linfield Christian School prior to registration with My Online Academy. Linfield Christian School reserves the right to deny any request for online courses due to varying factors such as academic success concerns and student workload.
Linfield Christian School partners with My Online Academy to offer online courses but students must comply with My Online Academy’s policies. Linfield Christian School cannot override any decisions made by My Online Academy.
Students will only receive credit for approved courses. For a list of approved courses visit here.
Linfield students may enroll in LCO to remediate grades (making up a "D" or "F" in credit courses) or take courses for original credit with a prior authorization from their school counselor.
It is entirely the responsibility of the non-Linfield Christian student and/or the student’s parent(s) or guardian(s) to obtain school authorization for recognizing Linfield coursework for school graduation or records purposes or for recognizing such coursework for advanced credit. Linfield shall not be held responsible for failure to obtain such authorization.
Parents will either receive regular communication and/or will have the ability to monitor their child’s progress. Parents should communicate directly with Linfield’s online advisor for questions and concerns. Parents should not contact the online school directly.
Students are expected to communicate frequently with the course instructor.
Communication is highly encouraged and is a must if working around vacations or other events that may interrupt pacing.
Students have 16 weeks to complete 5 units of coursework during the school semesters. For the summer schedule, please check with your counselor.
A request for a deadline extension may only be granted by the approval of the school counselor or instructor.
Students agree to complete all coursework (including final exam) prior to Linfield’s semester finals dates. Course fees are not refundable after 14 days. Prior to 14 days, refunds are subject to a $75 charge for initial processing and registration.
Linfield Christian students should allow an ample amount of time for the completion of online courses and are encouraged to register and begin LCO coursework accordingly.
Students and parents understand that a C- must be achieved in online classes for the course to be accepted and credited toward graduation.
According to Linfield Christian’s academic integrity policy, any act of cheating, plagiarizing, or any other type of activity deemed to be unethical or against the student code of conduct will result in the student not receiving graduation credit and the student will be required to make up the class on campus. This includes the use of AI tools for the purposes of cheating, plagiarism, or any form of academic dishonesty. Linfield Christian School will respect the decision of My Online Academy and its partners in academic dishonesty cases.
Enrollment in an AP class allows the opportunity to take the spring AP examination. The counseling office must be notified by the student/parent by the registration deadline. (contact counseling for those dates). Additional AP testing fees apply.
Students who are seeking NCAA approved online courses should talk to the school counselor for more details.
An official transcript will show online course grades and inclusion in the GPA.
To begin enrolling, use the Course Finder on the top right. A code from LCO is required in order to enroll. For assistance with registration, please contact the Online Advisor Nicholas Ortega at nortega@linfield.com.
